We spent some time outside gardening today, enjoying the fresh air, chatting and keeping active: all part of day to day life at school and to help with our work on mental health this week. We even learnt about Green manure and it’s use for making the soil in our raised beds richer.

We have had a very productive week this week at St Mary’s in our vegetable plot and poly tunnel. The children have worked really hard preparing the the beds for a new growing season with lots of weeding, raking and topping up the beds with topsoil. A great start to the term with lots of teamwork…

We have been creating nature inspired items this week for our St Mary's Jubilee celebrations. Class One made beautiful nature crowns and Class 2 and 3 created fantastic Jubilee flags with sticks and wool. 

Continuing our theme of hedgehogs the children in Class 3 have enjoyed getting messy making seed bombs. Class 2 helped to plant wildflower seeds in our Forest school site and these flowers will be very beneficial to local wildlife including any local hedgehogs. Class 1 showed lot's of perseverance…
