Our trip to the ThinkTank was fantastic.
Impeccable behaviour, excellent questions and lots of hands on science and learning.
Everyone asked if we could go again!
Sewing Bee
This week we have learned about the running strictly and the overstitch and practised both with varying degrees of confidence.
We have planned our sewing projects and chosen our preferred stitch and will start the construction in our next DT lesson.
States of matter - Chocolate
This week we have been really busy, we have written and edited adventure stories, learned about geographical features of continents, and looked at changing states of matter.
We explored the changes in chocolate from a solid to a liquid by melting it, and then so it didn’t go to waste we made rice…

We have continued with our States of Matter Science Topic this week and with our practical investigations.
We investigated the properties of various solids and liquids and looked in particular at how solids can sometimes behave in the same way as liquids.
Everyone worked beautifully together…
States of Matter
We are all excited about our new science topic - States of Matter.
We had fun today pretending to be the particles in a solid, a liquid and then a gas before sorting some common objects into their respective states.
Circuits
This week we have finished our DT projects. After spending several weeks coming up with designs, planning our designs, testing circuits and then putting it all together.
We had some issues getting circuits to work but persevered, had another go, and we are really pleased with the outcomes.

Egyptian Day
Highlight of our week was definitely out MAT Egyptian Day at Richard Crosse.
We had lots of fun learning about pyramids, mummification, food, religion and so much more.
We all mixed well with the other schools, some saw old friends, some made new friends.
A fantastic day all round.

Active Maths
This week we have continued with our number and place value maths topic and have worked to embed our place value knowledge using activities outside in addition to written tasks.

We have also introduced our Ancient Egypt topic and made ‘papyrus’ to write on next week.
Some fantastic respect being shown this week in class discussions, particularly PSHE.
