This week we have been really busy, we have written and edited adventure stories, learned about geographical features of continents, and looked at changing states of matter.
We explored the changes in chocolate from a solid to a liquid by melting it, and then so it didn’t go to waste we made rice…

Today in maths our Year 1 children built towers using 3D shapes. 

Class 4 helped to plant our saplings from the Woodland trust this week. 

Today in RE we learnt about the Jewish festival of Purim, and the story of Esther. We made Purim masks like Jewish children when they celebrate Purim. 

Today in maths our Year 1 children were discussing the similarities differences between 2D and 3D shapes.

The Cheerful Giver | A Story About Giving

This animated poem helps children learn about giving cheerfully! It can be used as a resource to promote engagement and discussion during family time at home too. We really enjoyed discussing it in today’s Worship. 

Year 1 enjoyed playing a board game in phonics today to help them learn the ‘ea’ sound. 

We have continued with our States of Matter Science Topic this week and with our practical investigations.

We investigated the properties of various solids and liquids and looked in particular at how solids can sometimes behave in the same way as liquids.

Everyone worked beautifully together…
