In maths today we have been partitioning teen numbers into tens and ones. We used the the part whole model and the base 10 to support our understanding.

In art today we have been exploring drawing techniques by discussing and experimenting with different patterns and marks.
Katie in London Drama
In English today we looked at the main plot points in our story Katie in London and acted out the parts in groups. Tomorrow we are going to use our role play ideas and the language we used to help us write the whole story.
Visit from Reverend Neale
Today we enjoyed talking to Reverend Neale. We asked him lots of questions about his role in the church and about his day-to-day roles. Thank you for taking the time to visit us!
Our expedition to cold places!
We packed a bag full of things to keep us warm on our adventures to the Arctic and Antarctica. We created moving penguins from the Antarctic and painted polar bears from the Arctic.
GreenPower- Week One
It has been a very exciting week in Class 4. We have started our ‘GreenPower’ journey.
Excitingly, we have decided on the themes for our cars (Postman Pat’s Van and a Surfer Camper Van). During the session we acquired many new skills and had lots of fun too!
Place Value to 20
In maths Year 1 have been learning all about the teen numbers and today in pairs we represented the numbers 17, 18 and 19 on the tens frames and worked out how many tens and ones each number had.
United Kingdom - London
In geography we have been learning all about the United Kindom and in English we have been basing our writing on the story ‘Katie in London, by James Mayhew. Today we combined our prior knowledge from both subjects and created some fantastic posters about London.
Dodgeball Tournament
We had a fantastic time taking part in our TSSMAT dodgeball tournement today. We all tried our hardest and worked brilliantly with our teams. Thank you to Mr Challinor for organising the event - we can't wait for the next one!
Exploring ice!

Getting to know our new friends!
We have welcomed some new pre-nursery and nursery friends into school this week. We have been getting to know each other by drawing things we like and sharing these things with our friends. We have been very kind and helpful to each other. We have also used super manners. Well done class one!
