Class 2

In DT we have been learning all about picnics. Today we designed and made fruit kebabs. We then evaluated our finished products. 
 

In DT this half term we are learning all about picnics. Today we followed instructions and made a jam sandwich. We then wrote up the instructions using time conjunctions and imperative ‘bossy’ verbs. We enjoyed eating our sandwiches the most! 
 

Today in Class 2 we have been painting our models in preparation for the Kings Bromley show art competition. The categories this year are:
Year 1 - Monster Models

Year 2 - People Models

Today in history we learnt about the history of St Mary’s and Victorian school life. We recreated a picture that was taken in our school during the Victorian era. 

Today we had a special visitor in Class 2 who told us all about the history of Colton. Thank you to the Colton History Society for this experience. 

Today Year 2 went on a walk around Colton to have a look at some of the buildings we have learnt about in our history topic. 

Class 2 had a lovely to e this afternoon reading their books to Class 4. It was lovely to see the older children supporting them with their learning. 

In maths this week Year 1 are looking at Place Value with 100. Today we made our own number lines and used them to count forwards and backwards. 
 

Reception enjoyed coming into Class 2 for some more transition time today. We did a maths lesson where we built numbers on the tens frame and counted objects within 10. We then had a go at recording our answers. 
 

In history class 2 have have been learning about the life of Queen Victoria's God Daughter Sarah Forbes Bonetta who was rescued from slavery and brought to England. Today we were thinking about her significance in British history and writing down our ideas. 

In maths today Year 1 have been using concrete resources to partition two digit numbers into tens and ones. 
 

 In Class 2 we have enjoyed watching our caterpillars grow. Today they are beginning to turn into a chrysalis.
