Autumn Poetry
In English this week we have been learning looking at a variety of poems about Autumn. We are going to write our own senses poem so today we went on a nature walk to find out what we could see, hear, smell, taste and touch.

In maths today Year 1 have been using the concrete resources to show greater than, less than and equal to.
Estimating on a number line
In maths today Year 2 have been using the outdoor resources to estimate on the number line.
Wedgwood
In art this half term we have been learning all about the work of Josiah Wedgwood. We have designed and made pottery based on his work and today we painted our creations with the ‘Wedgwood Blue’.
Super star writers
In English we have been basing our writing on the story Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell. Today the children are using their story maps to write the story.

In art Class 2 have been learning all about Josiah Wedgwood. This week we designed and created a piece of pottery inspired by his work.
Independent Learners
Our Year 1 children have been enjoying our outdoor area today accessing the continuous provision independently. It is lovely to see the children engaged and enjoying their learning.
3, 2, 1 Blast Off !
In maths today we have been looking at the number line and counting backwards from 10. We pretended that we were astronauts and ordered numbers backwards on our rockets.
Marvellous Maths
In Year 1 our maths has got off to a fantastic start. We have been sorting, counting and representing numbers up to 10.
Phonics Hunt
We got our Monster Phonics session off to a good start today by working in pairs to hunt for common exception words. We had to read and write down as many words as we could find.
Flower Power
In school this week we have been basing our writing on a book called Flower Power by Caroline Wedd. We also looked at the meaning behind the story and based PSHE sessions on resilience, respect and friendship. We also sketched and planted some flowers.
Teddy Bears Picnic
Class 2 had a fantastic time today at Colton Park for our Teddy Bears Picnic. Our furry friends also remembered to bring their lunch too!
