In Class 4 we have been creating images of The Blitz to remind ourselves of the lives that were lost and are still being lost today to ensure that we live in a world with freedom. The children only used paper and chalk to create these! We think they are fantastic!

In maths today Year 1 have been learning all about the part whole model as their first lesson in addition and subtraction. 

We learnt so much about the police during our visit from PC a Chris! We got to explore in the police van and look at a police officers uniform!  

We have been learning more about mass. We have used the vocabulary heavy, light, lighter, heavier, heaviest and lightest to compare. We used the balance scales to explore the mass of objects in our classroom! 

This afternoon firefighter Gary and firefighter Sam visited us! We learnt about their uniform, equipment, explored in the fire engine and we got to try out the hose. We learnt that being a firefighter requires teamwork, courage and hard-work! We had a super time and learnt so much! Thank you to…

We have been drawing and writing about what we want to be when we grow up. We have enjoyed lots of ‘people who help us’ themed role play. We have used our imagination to become postal workers, fire fighters, police officers, doctors, nurses, teachers and vets. 

This week in history, we have been learning about World War I propaganda. We then made our own propaganda posters based on our new learning.

In English this week we have been learning looking at a variety of poems about Autumn. We are going to write our own senses poem so today we went on a nature walk to find out what we could see, hear, smell, taste and touch.

In Class 4 we having been learning our spellings in a fun and imaginative way. We have had so much fun! Please have a look at our amazing work. 

We used a beater to explore sounds in the outdoor environment. We heard loud sounds, quiet sounds, bang, ting and scrape! 

We have had great fun role playing the story of the three little pigs! We used our voices, facial expressions, body language, creativity and team work to act out the story together!
