In English we're going to write recounts about our morning in Forest school. We had lots of fun doing a scavenger hunt, finding colours in nature, drinking hot chocolate and making habitats for minibeasts. 

What a fun den building session in forest school today!

Class worked as a fantastic team to prepare pumpkin soup! They used the equipment safely to peel and chop, and tasted the delicious, warming soup out in their forest school session. "It was delicious!" 

Class one worked as a team to find and solve the clues that led them to a special treat! There was super listening, great team work and participation as we following out hunt!

This week Year 2 have been learning that when a word ends in CVC (consonant vowel consonant) you need to double it to add a suffix. 

Examples: 

run+ing = running

hop+ed=hopped

skip+ing=skipping

Year 2 have been learning split digraph sounds:

o_e, i_e, a_e,…

We've been using concrete resources to compare numbers in our outdoor area.

We made some wonderful pumpkin soup and retold the story in our outdoor area.

We've been using comparison signs and numicon this morning in Maths.
