Class 1 Home Learning Timetable Monday 11th January

Good morning class one,

I hope you have all had a lovely weekend?

Well done to all of you! You did an amazing job with your home learning last week. Let's find out what we are learning today!

Remember to send photos and videos using class dojo portfolio and Google classroom so that we can see how your learning has been going.

I am here to help so please let me know if you need anything.

Before we start our lessons today

Before we start our lessons this morning listen to the story of the Polar Bear and the Snow Cloud. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dJHSEGRBJY

Answer these questions.

How does the bear feel?

What do you think of the cloud building some friends for the polar bear?

How would you help polar bear?

How did the polar bears feel at the end of the story? Why?

Input 1: 9:30am

Mrs Coleman- Harris will lead this topic session for all of Reception and Nursery together.

Today we are going to find out more about animals that love to live in winter conditions!

After the session can you choose an animal that lives in a cold place to research and find out some interesting facts about? You might like to choose a penguin, polar bear, an artic hare or maybe you can find another unusual animal. It is up to you! Can you draw and write down some of the facts that you find really interesting! You can share these with us at 2:30pm this afternoon when we get together at the end of the day.

You can present your facts in whatever way you like but here are some ideas to help you. Maybe you would like to make a poster, book or picture!

Here are some links to help. https://kids.nationalgeographic.com/explore/nature/habitats/polar/   https://www.activewild.com/arctic-animals-list/

After the lesson Reception can learn more about zero with the Numberblocks here. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0blsx34/numberblocks-series-3-zero. Can you practice writing zero and finding zero around the house? I have also attached some zero work sheets to work through at the end of this blog. Please choose one to work through. Send me some pictures or videos on Google Classroom or Class Dojo Portfolio of your learning all around zero!

You can also work through the White Rose Maths home learning resources across this week here. You might like to work on one video a day. These mini video lessons support and help the Reception children to develop all of the maths we have been learning in class. https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/early-years/alive-in-5-week-1/
