Lots of onions
We’ve had a lot of fun gardening today! We have finally harvested all of the onions. Some of them are huge. We look forward to eating them in our lunches.
Creating our own pirate treasure maps!

We went on a pirate treasure hunt!
We worked in two teams to follow the map and find the hidden treasure! We worked as a team, cooperated, communicated well, used lots of super positional language and had so much fun finding the treasure!
Weighing and water
Today Year 2 were showing Year 1 how to measure in ml,l, g and kg. We weighed vehicles and measured how heavy they are by adding up the weights. We also measured out amounts of water accurately into containers.
Pirate treasure potions!
We have been very creative today and made our own pirate treasure potions! We enjoyed whisking, stirring, pouring and serving the potions in teeny tiny teacups!
Building a pirate ship!
Today we have been very creative and worked as a team to build a giant pirate ship! We created treasure maps, telescopes and flags too! We had a super afternoon sailing the seas and having pirate adventures!
The Owl and the Pussycat
Today we read the owl and the pussycat in whole class reading. We worked in groups to perform the poem to the class and thought about how we could use instruments in our performances. Great creativity and teamwork!
Computing afternoon
Some of Class 2 have had a fun afternoon on the laptops while the others have been outdoor learning. We’ve been coding using code.org

Picnic Day
On Tuesday 13th July, Class 2 will have a picnic day as part of their Design and Technology topic this half term. We will prepare picnics that we have designed in the morning. Then we walk to the park to enjoy our picnics and play on the equipment. The picnic will replace our free school dinner…
