Understanding 10
Today the children are working in pairs to work out how many different ways they make ten using concrete resources.
Josiah Wedgwood
In art this half term we are going to be learning g about the life and work of Josiah Wedgwood. Today we looked at some of his pottery and sketched features of our favourite pieces.
Story Time in Class 2
Today one of Year 2 children read the story to the Class. She chose the Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson.
Dear Zoo
In English today we looked at different zoo animals in groups. We had to think about how our animal moved? What it looked like and how it sounded? As a class we had to decide which animal we thought it was.
Counting within 10
In maths today we were practicing counting within 10. We learnt that the last number you say is how many you have altogether. Year 1 had an outdoor maths challenge whereby they had to work in pairs and count the number of different objects .
Teddy Bears Picnic
Class 2 had a fantastic time at their Teddy Bears Picnic today. Our furry friends enjoyed their lunch too.
Decorating Biscuits
In Class 2 today we decorated a biscuit ready for our ‘Teddy Bear’s Picnic’ tomorrow.
Perfect Picnics
In D and T we have been learning all about picnics. We have learned about food that is farmed, grown and caught and all about healthy eating. Today we made fruit kebabs based on our designs that we did in a previous lesson.
Making a pound
In maths today we have been using the concrete resources to see how many different ways we can make £1. We learnt that £1 is the same value as 100p.
Money Money Money
In maths today we have been learning to recognise coins and notes and understand that they all have a different value.
History Quiz
Today in history we worked in teams to answer our end of unit meta cognitive quiz. The children were able to recall all the facts about Florence Nightingale.
What We’ll Build
We have had a fantastic transition morning in Class 2 and enjoyed welcoming our new children into our class. We based our learning on the book ‘What We’ll Build’ by Oliver Jeffers. We have been very creative with our learning today.
