Class 1

Today we enjoyed making lemonade in the water tray today! We squeezed, squashed and poured! We loved the smell of the lemons and this was a great activity for our fine motor skills.

Our caterpillars are starting to transform! We have enjoyed observing them move and grow over time. I wonder what will happen next? Ask us to find out more about the life cycle of a caterpillar! 

We expressed our creativity in outdoor learning in the forest today! We expressed our creativity through drawing, painting, building and bring our own ideas to life! We had fun building swimming pools, drawing our friends and painting freely! 

Today class one visited Reverend Anne over at St Mary’s church. Reverend Anne taught us about her job role, what happens in a church and we even had a baptism! Class one flew like eagles with their behaviour and responses to Reverend Anne’s questions. 

Reception were flying like eagles today as they worked with a partner to write sentences to retell the story of Jack and the Beanstalk! They communicated, shared, took turns, support each other and demonstrated their amazing writing skills!

We have enjoyed exploring mark making in the shaving foam! We created lots shapes and marks like spirals, zigzags and circles. We described the foam as slimy and slippery! 

We have enjoyed listening to the story of Jack and a the Beanstalk, planting our own seeds and learning how to care for them. We have set up an experiment to see what happens to a seed with sun, no sun, water and no water. We are excited to find out what happens! 

We had some small, wiggly creatures arrive in class one today! We are looking forward to seeing how the caterpillars change over time and what they turn into. 

This afternoon we explored making 10 using natural materials on our tens frames. Reception showed excellent understanding, creativity, teamwork and problem solving skills. 

We loved painting in the sunshine today! We explored stamping, painting with brushes and our fingers! We investigated mixing colours and looked at the shapes we created.
