Information for after half term.

After half term Class One will be learning more about spring, growing, caring for the environment and the great outdoors!

PE
PE is usually on a Thursday afternoon in class one. Please ensure your child has a kit in school with clothing and footwear for indoor and outdoor PE. Please make sure everything is clearly labelled. This will help if anything goes missing. Labels can be checked and the clothing can be returned to the correct child. We will change for PE in school to develop our independent dressing skills. We will go home in our PE kit at the end of the day to allow more time for music and worship after PE.  Please ensure long hair is also tied back.

Outdoor learning

Outdoor learning usually happens on a Friday morning in Class one. Please make sure your child has a waterproof all in one suit which is clearly labelled for outdoor learning. It would be great if your child could have a thicker, warmer all in one suit for the winter and a thinner one for the summer months. Please ensure your child has a pair of wellies that can be left in school at all times as we often go onto the field, do gardening, go in the mud kitchen,  and go on outdoor adventures.

Reception Reading

Reception have home reading books, sounds and focus words. Please also read a range of other reading materials at home with your child. This could be a magazine, story, leaflet, online book, poem, anything! Please write a brief comment and sign your child’s diary each time they read. Please make sure your child brings their school book and diary to school each day. We will aim to change books once a week, usually at the start of the week. If your child reads 5 times a week, your child will receive a token. This will help their team to collect more tokens. The winning team gets a prize at the end of each half term.

Reception will continue to learn more sounds with the Monster Phonics in the summer term. Check out their website and Facebook page for more information.

Snack money

We ask for a voluntary donation of £1 a week for snack money for class one. This enables us to buy dry snack for everyone and cooking ingredients.
