Class 1 Home Learning Timetable Wednesday 13th January

Good morning class one,

It was fantastic to see creativity being used from your tool kit yesterday to help you build a sledge and a slope. There were some fantastic creations!

Remember to send photos and videos using class dojo portfolio and Google classroom so that we can see how your learning has been going.

I am here to help so please let me know if you need anything.

If you haven't listened to our story this week here it is.

The Polar Bear and the Snow Cloud. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dJHSEGRBJY

Answer these questions.

How does the bear feel?

What do you think of the cloud building some friends for the polar bear?

How would you help polar bear?

How did the polar bears feel at the end of the story? Why?

Input 1: 9:30am

Mrs Coleman- Harris will lead this topic session for all of Reception and Nursery together.

Today we are going to be using our artistic skills to create some polar bear artwork. What art and craft materials will you use today? Maybe you could use paint, shaving foam, cotton wool or pencil? Here are some ideas. This is your artwork so be as creative as you like! Use a variety of different materials and have fun exploring!

Remember to take some photos or a video of your learning and send it to us on Google classroom or dojo portfolio.

Input 3: 1:30pm

Maths

Reception:

You will be working with Mrs Coleman-Harris. Today we will be learning more about repeating patterns.

After the session can you create a repeating pattern scarf? Will you use 2 colours or 3 colours? Will you use some different shapes? If you need a little help your parents can start off a pattern for you to continue. There are some resources attached at the end of our blog if you would like a template or if you would like to learn more about repeating patterns.

Reception would you like some extra maths learning?

You can also work through the White Rose Maths home learning resources across the week here. You might like to work on one video a day. These mini video lessons support and help the Reception children to develop all of the maths we have been learning in class. Please follow what we are learning in the online sessions and the sessions on the white rose maths page for reception. These sessions are building on the children's previous learning and helping them to develop a deeper understanding of maths. https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/early-years/alive-in-5-week-1/

Please use the following link for out 1:30pm maths session.

Nursery:

We will not meet with you on Google Meet for your maths. Please have a go at this maths activity at some point throughout the day. Also continue to work on the maths activities posted earlier in the week.

Choose a stick from the garden or while you are out on a walk. Is the stick longer, shorter or the same size as you? Can you use your stick to compare it with the size of some other objects that you find? You could compare the stick against the size of your front door, your parents or a tree. Is your stick longer, shorter or the same size?
