This week Year 2 have been learning that when a word ends in CVC (consonant vowel consonant) you need to double it to add a suffix.
Examples:
run+ing = running
hop+ed=hopped
skip+ing=skipping
Year 2 have been learning split digraph sounds:
o_e, i_e, a_e, e_e
Examples:
bone, home, phone
take, bake, make
bike, like, nine
