Hi Class 4,

I hope that you have had a lovely weekend. This is the work for the next few days. Please let me know if there is anything extra that you need. Our strawberries and raspberries are going well at school and providing us with a delicious snack each day! Well done to Year 5 for winning the TT Rockstars challenge last week, it was so exciting and went right up to 10 am. Great effort by all. Great team work from Year 6 whose average points per child was also superb and showed real team work.

Class 4 English School Closure Work

This document shows an image of a girl trapped in a bottle. I would like you to think about how she got there? How could she get out?  We are going to be writing a flashback of how the girl got into the bottle. So over the next couple of days I would like you to plan your own idea of how this happened.

I have attached  the plan to help you map out your ideas....

Guided Reading

The Park Reading comprehension

History 1

Our final History lesson is based on  crime and punishment in the early modern period of British History. This covers the Stuarts until 1800 and the famous event that was The Gunpowder Plot. The period started off with a plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament. There was also a Civil War during this period, which was also partly due to religion. There were lots of crimes related to religion at this time, such as witchcraft along with an increase in the number of smugglers, highwaymen and poachers. It was during this time that punishments became harsher and that a new punishment of transportation was introduced. Your lesson today is to research the Gunpowder plot and create a newspaper article based on the event.

History 2 Your final task is to look back through all of your work on crime and punishment, note down any dates and key events and create a timeline of how crime and punishment has changed. Remember all the old blogs will show you any information you might need. Try to be creative in your approach to this task. Think back to our World War 2 timelines, your world history timelines you did with Mrs Smith and your God's Rescue Mission that folds out in the front of your RE books. Use these ideas to help you create something exciting.
