PLEASE NOTE THERE WILL BE NO GOOGLE MEET THIS WEEK AS WE ARE HAVING ISSUES WITH IT IN SCHOOL

Hi Class 4,

Well another week has ended and new one is just about to begin. We have seen more faces back in school this week which has been exciting- we are still missing all those children who are not yet back into school. I hope that you are all okay and staying safe.

This is the work that I would like you to complete over the next couple of days. If you are struggling with anything please don't hesitate to get in touch with us and we will do our best to help.

English:

This week for English we are going start off with something a little different. I would like you to write your memories of your time at St.Mary's. You might want to have a think about the fun times that you have shared with your friends, trips that you have been on or even just exciting lessons that you have had at school.

Please email me these memories and I will compile them together. Thank you.

Later in the week we will be returning back to the story of The Tiny Crusader.

We are also going to be doing something a little different Year 5's. I would like you to plan out and type up your memories of this year. I am sure that Corona Virus may factor in there for us all but it would be great if you could also include some other memories of the year too. You might also want to think about the trips we have been on, visitors we have had into school and also some of the fun times we have had together.

We are looking to put these together and include them in a virtual assembly for the Year 6 children so please could you send them to me via email. I look forward to seeing what you have enjoyed about the year.

Later in the week we will be returning back to the story of The Tiny Crusader.

PSHE

We have a new question for you to debate in our Votes For Schools classroom. This is part of your Google Classroom and can be found by clicking on the 4 horizontal lines in the top left corner. This weeks discussion is;

Will the recent anti-racism protests lead to change in the US?

Last week 75% of Key Stage 2 voted in favour of under 18's having criminal records. How will this week's debate go?

Year 5

I would like you to send me a short video wishing Year 6 all the best in the future. Maybe you could add in some fond memories of the year and why you will always remember them.

Guided Reading

Chapter 8

For Guided Reading this half term we will be using Google Classroom and the online text Treasure Island. This can be found on the following link:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/english-ks2-treasure-island-pt7/zmxnkmn

Your challenge this week is to use the attached script for the Chapter and turn it into a piece of narrative instead. This will mean you need lots of direct speech but will have to gt a balance with your description and narration or it will become boring to read. If you don't have time to do the whole chapter choose a page from the scrip to have a go at.
