Image of The week commencing Monday 4th November we are learning all about Diwali and Bonfire night!

Let's celebrate!

After half term we will be learning all about Diwali and Bonfire night! We will talk about safety around bonfires and fireworks, We will sort things that are safe and unsafe to touch. We will make firework sounds, dance to firework music and draw and write about fireworks. We will also develop our maths skills through counting fireworks, matching the numeral and reception will work on addition and finding the total. The children will make diva lamps this week and create firework art work. They will read and learn more about the Diwali story and the story of Guy Fawkes. 

There will be lots of other Diwali, Bonfire night and firework themed activities for the children to access throughout the week.

In phonics, the reception children will learn more about the sounds e,r and u. We will continue to learn the phase 2 tricky words. We will continue to work on sounding out and blending to read and sounding out to spell. 

The Nursery children will continue to have lots of fun learning more about sounds, songs and rhymes, stories and rhyming.
